I am a middle-aged momma of three very young kidlets; it gets a little hectic and I've found the best way to manage is to cook and bake tons. And some more tons. Very relaxing. I've recently begun implementing some new lifestyle changes, so the baking has slowed but the cooking is ramping up.
I worked in several kitchens in my early 20s, from baking to prep cooking, learning juuuust enough to cover my bum so that the chef didn't plant a foot therein. It wasn't until later that I had somewhat formal cooking lessons, and that's when I got really involved. I don't know if you can call evening classes formal cooking lessons, but I just did.
I live in Western Canada and am a middle-of-the-road type Canuck; big fan of maple syrup but canNOT watch hockey. I support local farmers as much as possible but tend to import all of my celebrity gossip from the US.
